Wittenberg Chemistry – Catalyzing Student Success
On March 18, when Wittenberg announced that we will deliver our academic program through remote instruction for the remainder of the spring semester, many of you reached out to ask how you could help.
The current health crisis presents a challenge unlike anything Wittenberg has faced in modern times – an unprecedented challenge that changes daily and has no definitive end. Campus has been closed and students are learning remotely, most of them from home, to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Remote learning is going better than expected, but we are really looking forward to getting students back on campus.
If you are in a position to help these students finish their Wittenberg education there are two opportunities I encourage you to consider:
- The Wittenberg COVID-19 Crisis Fund - a fund designed to provide support for things such as emergency student needs, unforeseen expenses resulting from remote teaching and learning, or virtual meetings with prospective students and their families.
- The Chemistry Department Franta Scholarship Award - this fund allows Chemistry and BMB majors with financial difficulty make it to graduation. We hope to double or triple the amount of support that we can provide for majors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but need your support to do so. Gifts of any size are appreciated.
