Community Service Program Fund
Having Light, We Pass it on to Others.

The Community Service program provides students with opportunities to serve, to connect with the greater Springfield community, and to reflect on the service experience to better understand themselves, community needs, and their responsibility in advancing the common good. The community service experience helps students discover their purpose and contributes to the achievement of their lifelong goals.

One of only a select few institutions that requires community service to graduate, Wittenberg believes that each student should serve, connect and reflect as they learn to pass their light on to others. Your gift will help support the community service student experience and will benefit our students with meaningful opportunities. Make your #Commit2Witt gift today and a student will donate an hour of their time for every dollar raised today.

My experience doing community service in Springfield has given myself a new perspective on life. The materials we own and other comfort items are all for convenience, not for remembrance. The things that will leave an impact are the interactions we have with others. - Ryan Mallette '20

Ryan has displayed a willingness to go above and beyond in his service to SCYM’s Manpower program. He is humble, teachable, and he has helped with recruitment as well as helping coordinate fundraising efforts. I’ve never seen him try to draw attention to himself, he makes it about the kids and sets an excellent example for our young men in his attitude towards service. - Tyler Worley, community partner
